British Soldier Killed in Afghanistan, Highest Ranking Death Since 1982

Lt. Col. Rupert Thornloe, 40, and trooper Joshua Hammond, 18 were killed by a roadside bomb. The loss of these two lives and kidnapping of a US Marine should remind us all that even though we are pulling out of Iraq, there is still a very real threat for our soldiers, and our Allies’ soldiers, in Afghanistan.
